Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey declares reports of summer surgery as 'completely false'

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has rubbished reports that he is set to have surgery this summer. The Welsh international, who scored the winning goal in his club's 3-2 FA Cup Final win over Hull City 10 days ago, has tweeted that reports he is set to see a surgeon over the thigh injury that caused him to miss three months of the 2013-14 campaign are false. "Please ignore any stories about me needing surgery" tweeted the Arsenal star. "They are completely false. I'm enjoying my summer and already can't wait for pre-season." Ramsey scored 16 goals in 35 matches for the Gunners during the season just ended, including the goal that earned the north London club its first piece of silverware in nine years. The 23-year-old has been left out of Wales squad for the upcoming friendly against Netherlands however, with Chris Coleman looking for him to recuperate after the season. Speaking last week Coleman said: "We thought he could come with us, but we think he needs a good rest. He is a loss, of course he is, and we are a better team when he is with us, that's obvious. "But we didn't want to take the risk, neither did Aaron, nor Arsenal, I would have thought. "We think he needs a bit of a rest so we can get him ready for the start of the season.
