This Kick-ass Batman-themed Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Injustice Edition Will be hitting South Korea June 13

First off, i'm a huge Batman fan. 

So when i heard that Samsung was going to be doing a custom made Galaxy S7 phone with the Dark Knight, i squealed like a girl.

At the moment though i'm just downright envious, why? Well this super cool Batman Injustice Edition of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is arriving South Korea come June 13. 

I'm chuffed for South Korean Batman fans, while i'm just sad for me. This jet-black Samsung device comes emblazoned with a golden batwing emblem so iconic to your favorite non-super-powered superhero.

Now before you jump out the window in excitement, it would be wise to advise you-- this will cost you a pretty penny. The limited edition Injustice Edition of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has a price tag of 1.199 million won, which clocks in at just around $1,035.

Did i hear you whistle? I did too.

On the other hand though, Only 1,000 will be sold period, but the first 30 who show up will be getting an extremely limited Batman Injustice figure as icing on the cake. 

Also coming with the package is a gold-colored Batarang, a coupon for VR content, a Batman-black Samsung Gear VR headset, and a back cover touting the Batman symbol.

So you can be certain that there won't be many people owning stuff like this around you.

So if you're cool with all the inherent conditions and you can pull it off, then you may just be getting yourself the coolest phone ever.

Apple may debut iMessage for Android at WWDC 2016

Apple could very well debut the iMessage for Android at WWDC 2106 sources say.

MacDailyNews reports Apple plans to announce iMessage for Android at Monday's WWDC 2016 keynote event, a move that could significantly expand the service's footprint. 

This is one we take with a pinch of salt as the publication isn't really known for its accuracy when it comes to Apple news, but the rumours have been flying around so it remains to be seen.

Apple it seems is trying to build out its software services offerings by extending support beyond devices running iOS and OS X, the source said. While no mean feat, adding Android compatibility to iMessage would be relatively straightforward as the product's backend resides in the cloud. 


If Apple can pull this off they'll be giving their customers access to a trusted — end-to-end encrypted — messaging service compatible with a majority of the world's .smartphones. 

If the users have a taste of iOS design and security it could cause them to turn.

So we wait till Monday to see what really happens

Checkout New Lenovo Phone Able to Sense Surrounding World

With new innovations coming about everyday, Lenovo has joined in, unveiling a new smartphone filled with sensors that enable it to scan and map the world around it in real time.

The PHAB2 Pro as it is called is powered by technology known as Project Tango, developed by Google and that uses the camera and a set of sensors built into the phone to scan the space around it and build a 3D map of the surroundings.

The smartphone was announced at Lenovo's Tech World conference in San Francisco where the Chinese firm suggested that Project Tango could be as pivotal as GPS and improve indoor mapping as well as power new augmented and virtual reality experiences.

A senior official at Lenovo, said: "Put simply, we wanted to take what was an amazing concept and transform it into a commercially viable mobile device.

"From the moment we saw Tango, we knew it could become pervasive, just like GPS. However, to truly make the PHAB2 Pro a game-changer, we developed it at an affordable price for mainstream consumers, delivering not just a bleeding-edge phone, but an all-around fantastic phone that's first to market."

The PHAB2 Pro uses motion tracking, depth perception and area learning to map environments and sense its own location within them. In total there are four cameras built into the device.

The phone will hit the shelves in the US first in September for $499 (£344)

Massive Breach as Passwords Of about 32 Million Twitter Accounts Leaked

Reports indicate that there has been a massive leak of login credentials for Twitter, one of the world's most used social media platform. 

The number reportedly reaches 32 million. Their passwords have been compromised and are now online. The belief is that it is now on sale on the dark web, though Twitter maintains that the leak is not as a result of a breach of its systems.

“We are confident that these usernames and credentials were not obtained by a Twitter data breach – our systems have not been breached. In fact, we’ve been working to help keep accounts protected by checking our data against what’s been shared from recent other password leaks,” says a spokesperson for Twitter.

The leaked data is said to contain usernames, passwords, and email addresses of 32,888,30 users. LeakedSource, a search engine for leaked login credentials, believes that these credentials have been stolen through malware infecting popular browsers like Chrome and Firefox, instead of a breach of Twitter’s systems. The bulk of the users affected by this leak appear to be from Russia.

This hasn't been the only breach in recent times, both LinkedIn and MySpace have also suffered breaches such as this and as a precaution users are advised not to use the same password everywhere. 

Different services should have different passwords and having a two-factor authentication enables on services that offer this additional security feature would not be amiss either. 

OnePlus 3 might just be the coolest Android phone of all time

Remember Captain Planet? Or Voltron? What made them so cool was the combination of stuff it took to create them. 

For Voltron it was 5 Lions for  Captain Planet it was 5 elements. 

So too it seems is the new Android phone that could be coming soon. 

If the renders are true that is. OnePlus 3 is early on looking like it's the real deal and is set for release next week on June 14th.

Earlier, OnePlus announced the phone’s release date without actually revealing any details about the device itself, but leaks appear to have painted a fairly complete picture at this point… and if that picture even comes close to representing reality, OnePlus will likely have managed to build the coolest Android phone the world has ever seen.

Rumors indicate that the OnePlus 3 phone will be a powerhouse. Specs supposedly include a 5.5-inch AMOLED full HD display, a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a 16-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front camera, a 3,000 mAh battery and OnePlus’s custom version of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

Somehow, it appears as though all that tech will be packed into a phone that looks impossible sleek and slim.

Earlier this week we saw a leak emerge that showed what was believed to be a OnePlus 3 powered on for the first time. Now, a new leak from a third-party clear case manufacturer appears to give us an even clearer view of the new phone’s design.

The renders were posted on Weibo (via Android Headlines) by a reliable source, below are pictures of the device. This could very well be the coolest phone this year knocking the stuffing out of the S7.

Smartphones are generally fragile devices, gone are the days when there were durable Nokia symbian phones that could survive long drops and some other less than gentle treatment.

Smartphones nowadays are one drop away from a cracked screen and one fumble into water away from permanent destruction.

So most of us will give a lot to own a phone that not only has the ruggedness to handle most of our rough behaviors but is also relatively smart enough to be considered cool.

Enter Chinese Smartphone maker Blackview who claim to have the answer to your prayers. 

The phone is called the BV6000 and it costs less than US$200. It comes with an octo-core Mediatek Helio P10 chipset and 3GB RAM, a 720p 4.7-inch display, and 32 GB of storage. Sure, it’s no iPhone 7, but that’s pretty solid performance for the price.

And the best part? It's basically like the Juggernaut--Indestructible.

The phone is rated IP68, meaning that it’s completely waterproof and dust-sealed which is amazing. It also has some pretty impressive shock absorption. 

It's all well and good to write about this stuff, but maybe seeing it will make you see the light.

Blackberry Priv No Longer Available on T-Mobile Website

Barely a year ago, the prospect of the Blackberry Priv had many people really excited. It was a known brand which had been falling behind about to make a major comeback and on the Android platform too.

The Blackberry Priv was set to change the fortunes of the company and lead them into a new age of success.

Alas, it was not to be and here we are in June 2016 and not only has BlackBerry’s first Android phone failed to thrive, and this has now resulted in at least one service provider deciding to drop the device as the Priv is no longer listed on T-Mobile’s website.

The service provider have not only dropped the Priv, but there aren't any Blackberry phones at all on offer.

This has been as a result of poor performance. We had reported earlier that the sales of the Priv weren't doing too well at all, with fewer and fewer people purchasing it.

It made it worse that the Priv is so expensive. It started out at a whopping $700 on release and this was replicated in other regions. This led to poor sales as the Blackberry was becoming an unpopular brand with consumers preferring the cheaper and sometimes more efficient Android phones.

A new leak confirms what had been rumoured for a long time-- Samsung is skipping a generation in its Galaxy series. Kinda like how windows skipped the 9th generation and just went for 10 straight up, well Samsung is doing the same thing and jumping straight to 7 it seems.

The image below, found by NowhereElse, was put on Twitter and it shows a large number 7 and text that says “The Next Note” right below it.

The image however, bears no sign that it was generated by Samsung so there's some doubt surrounding it.

Notwithstanding, there's certainly interest in a second report that shows us what may very well be the final design of the Galaxy Note 7. Set to launch at some point in mid-August, the phone will be similar to the Galaxy S7 series – and it will apparently include an edge version. Unlike the Galaxy S7 models, all new Note 7 handsets will have a stylus, which is an iconic feature of this smartphone family.

The short video below created by uSwitch is based on schematics obtained byNowhereElse, who is generally trustworthy when it comes to leaks.

From the looks of it, the Galaxy Note 7 should measure 153.5 x 73.9 x 7.9 mm, which is almost identical to last year’s model. 

A glaring detail in these renders is the presence of the USB-C port on the bottom. Samsung has stayed away from the new USB standard so far, but the new Note 7 family might be the first series to make use of it. 

Conclusively, a dual rear camera isn’t present, though some rumors had suggested there would be a setup similar to what we’re expecting on the iPhone 7 Plus.

Developer Creates Super Cool Phone Case That Lets iPhones run Android

Well, that's not something you see everyday. A popular developer, Nick Lee who has become somewhat of a mad scientist in the world of tech by putting weird and wacky operating systems on Apple gadgets, including Windows 95 on an Apple Watch has now gone further and place a full-fledged version of Android on the iPhone. 

Cool eh? you do need a special, 3D-printed smartphone case to make it work though.

What Lee did was to clone the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and then make a custom version of Android Marshmallow he could run on a board he bought himself. He proceeded to then get a 3D printed iPhone-sized enclosure he found on Thingiverse, and combined the board, a battery, a boost converter, and resistor to make a lightweight case. 

His first prototype was to put it mildly, sorta fat, But then, after a bit of a makeover which involved slimming down the design, Lee was able to craft an enclosure not too much larger than your standard smartphone battery case.

 He also threw in a bunch of other stuff including openings for HDMI and USB ports, as well as a SD card slot. 

From his video, Lee appears to boot Android by way of a custom Tendigi app on the iPhone's home screen. Tendigi, where Lee works as CTO, is a mobile design and development studio in Brooklyn, and Lee uses its iOS app to communicate with the case and load his custom version of Android on an iPhone 6S's display. 

This took days to complete and it's certainly not something that'll be used in the mainstream, but it is fascinating to see the creativity of it all.

Users Of the iPhone Instagram App can now share Photos from Everywhere!

Instagram will finally  let anybody share pictures from anywhere on their phone, thereby taking care of arguably the most annoying problem that it has.

The company has finally enabled share extensions so that it’s easy to share from photos or anywhere else on the phone.

The feature exists on almost every other app – even facebook. But it might be more useful than any of those for Instagram, since it makes it easy to send photos from the photo library or anyone else.

Share extensions can be triggered from many apps that have a photo in, and are usually opened by clicking the little share button in any particular app. In the Photos app, for instance, people can just open a photo and then click the little rectangular share box – allowing them to share a photo without ever opening the app.

From the share extension, people can choose to write a small message to post alongside the photo – after which it will be uploaded. For any more special features like filters or editing, users will have to click through to the app.

But Instagram has been late to the party and didn’t ever seem to get around to integrating the feature within its app, despite going through a complete overhaul and re-design since they were released. But now it has been pushed out in the latest version of the app, which can be found in the App Store.

There's no official app for the iPad so maybe that's their next fix, so it remains to be seen. 

Samsung Could Very Well Have Bendable Phones By 2017

Samsung may very well have their first foldable phone very soon. The company who had unveiled a prototype since 2008 at the Society for Information Display (SID) exhibition say, according to reports, that they will two bendable smartphones out there, as soon as early 2017. 

The report, which originated from Bloomberg cites the ubiquitous “people familiar with the matter,” and says both devices will sport OLED screens. 

Details are somewhat sketchy, but from all indications it seems that one device will be a phone/tablet combo, whose 5-inch screen could be unfolded into an 8-inch screen. The other will be a phone that folds in half, not unlike a cosmetic compact (so, basically a flip phone but with a screen on both sides).. 

According to Bloomberg’s sources, Samsung might be preparing the launch of one or even both of these phones for next year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which typically takes place in late February. The phones, currently developed under the codename “Project Valley,” will not be a part of Samsung’s Galaxy S range. 

So we'll be on the lookout for more developments, but if true, then it is quite exciting.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Active official Pays Homage to Nokias of Old With massive Durability and Monster Battery

Samsung's Galaxy S7 is one of the hottest things to hit the market this year without question and company have looked to continue the trend with the release of the Galaxy S7 Active.

Make no mistake, this phone is tough. If you recall the old Nokia 3310 which could be thrown into a burning building, fall from a skyscraper, act as a bulletproof vest and still be intact, well the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active is gunning for something similar.

The screen is protected by a shatter resistant glass that should be able to withstand a drop or two. The rest of the handset is encased in a protective rubberized shell that will also help to absorb the impact of knocks and drops. All that and, like the standard S7, it's water-resistant too.


The display is a 5.1-inch QHD Super AMOLED screen. Powering the handset is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 CPU with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. In a first for a Galaxy tough phone there's also a fingerprint reader on the handset. In the rear is a 12-megapixel camera while the front features a 5-megapixel selfie snapper.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active will be an AT&T exclusive and is available from 10 June so you can start getting ready for it if you drop your phone a lot...or if you fancy owning something tough.

Blackberry Priv down In the Doldroms, Doing worse than Previously Imagined

Blackberry hasn't competed properly in the smartphone market for a while. They are seen as many as have beens and are seen as being on the brink of extinction. 

Due to this it seemed that Blackberry had placed all their faith in its first Android-powered handset, the BlackBerry Priv, but even it doesn’t appear to have done much to improve its fortunes. 

In a report by CNET where they quoted a “high-level” AT&T executive that the BlackBerry Priv is “really struggling,” and that the rate of return has been quite high. “We’ve seen more returns than we would like” the unnamed executive adds.

The report also reveals that while it was initially believed that an Android-powered handset would entice more users to switch to BlackBerry, most of the customers who did pick one up were BlackBerry loyalists, used to the company’s own operating system, and thus they couldn’t quite make the transition to Android. 

This according to the unnamed executive is the reason for the high rate of return.

BlackBerry has so far said nothing of the report, but report didn't mince words in its analysis of Blackberry's failings. There have even been rumours of the company’s hardware business being shut down for good, with CEO John Chen himself saying that he will shut down the hardware business if it fails to turn a profit soon.

It is hoped that perhaps the Hamburg and Rome might come around and help its fortunes.

Easy Way to Copy Files To and From BlackBerry PRIV Using Windows 8.1/10.

Step 1 – Install the PRIV USB Drivers

In order to connect to PRIV so you can access its device memory and media card contents, you need to install the PRIV USB drivers first.

To obtain these drivers, click here & select BlackBerry Android USB and Tether Drivers (Windows) followed by clicking Next and finally Download Software.

When the drivers have finished downloading, double-click on the file to install the drivers on your PC. If prompted, restart your PC after installing the drivers before proceeding.

Step 2 – Connect PRIV to your PC, and select File Transfer mode

When connecting to your PC there are two important things you need to know.

The first is that PRIV must be unlocked if you have a device password set. This is a security precaution that prevents someone from taking your PRIV, connecting it to their PC and having access to your personal data.

The second is that if you are using Android 6.0 or later, aka Marshmallow on PRIV, you must enable File Transfer mode after connecting PRIV to your PC. To do this, on PRIV, after connecting to your PC, swipe down from the top of display using two fingers, tap on the Connecting in charging mode notification followed by tapping File Transfer.

Step 3 – Copy files to and from PRIV using Windows Explorer

After selecting File Transfer mode, access PRIV by opening Windows Explorer and look for your device to be listed along the left as per the screenshot below (it will appear as BlackBerry STV100-X, with X being your specific regional variant of PRIV). Click BlackBerry STV100-X and you will be able to access your PRIV device memory, or your media card if one is inserted into the device.

According to An Exec, Huawei WILL Make 2016 Nexus Phone

Rumours have circled around for ages about HTC handling Google's Nexus line-up for 2016, the rumours go as far as to indicate a three-year deal which will see Google and HTC in cahoots on the project going forward. 

Due to all this talk one would have thought that the idea of a non-HTC Nexus phone was simply a dream.

Well no more.

Huawei have according to a report from Gearburn said they would be in the Nexus game this year.

Charlene Munilall who is Huawei's general manager of its phone business in South Africa, was asked why Nexus handsets had not been made available in the country, but point blank she said "we're doing the Nexus again this year, by the way." 

This fits in well with comments made by other Huawei execs following the announcement of Google's Daydream VR project; none other than Huawei Director Richard Yu confirmed that the company plans to launch a Daydream compatible handset in Autumn, during an interview with the Wall Street Journal.  

This could very well mean the non-Nexus Huawei device that is speced for Daydream, it seems reasonable to suppose that whatever Nexus devices Google launches going forward, whether Huawei, HTC or otherwise, will be Daydream compatible. 

Yu also stated that Huawei's team-up with Leica for camera tech was a long-term partnership for at least five years, but although that means we can expect to see more Leica camera-equipped Huawei devices we wouldn't go banking on the next Huawei Nexus to pack such a dual-camera setup.

It will certainly be interesting to see how a Nexus/Huawei teamup will be like. We're definitely looking forward to it.

Mark Zuckerberg Gets Social Media Accounts Hacked

A fairly well-known hacker group, Ourmine, with 41,000 followers on Twitter, claimed on Sunday that they'd successfully hacked Mark Zuckerberg's Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Twitter accounts. 

On checking things out, Zuckerberg's verified Twitter account had been defaced

Ourmine went on to brag about their achievement in a tweet and asked Zuckerberg to contact the group.



Another message of a similar vein was left on a Pinterest account allegedly associated with Zuckerberg.

This may have been linked to a large-scale data dump that occurred on May 18 2012 because of LinkedIn who claimed that more than 100 million members' email and password combinations hacked.

During this breach, hackers apparently stole and publicly released a separate set of 6.5 million encrypted passwords that year.

Apple To fix iPad-bricking bug with new iOS update

Apple has finally released an iOS update to fix a pretty pesky bug that was transforming 9.7-inch iPad Pros into unusable slabs of glass. 

The new update, version number 9.3.2, will fix whatever software issue was bricking the tablets, and it can be downloaded over the air today. 

Users complained about seeing a message that read "Error 56." when using the 9.3.2 and this prompts you to plug the device into iTunes so it can be restored and this did absolutely nothing to fix the problem that was rendering the iPad Pro useless.

For those who have already their iPad Pro to the latest version of iOS, then this update is redundant. But if not, you can go to the "General" section in Settings and try the download again. 

It might initially give an error on the first try, but don't let this deter you, just try again and a new 9.3.2 will start downloading and then install.

Your Whatsapp Chats Might not Be As Safe As Initially thought

WhatsApp had announced that all its chats are protected by end-to-end encryption.

This virtually means that only the sender and receiver will be able to read the messages in a conversation. Telegram offers end-to-end encryption too in secret chats. 

But according to a set of videos released on Forbes, it seems hackers will be able to read your WhatsApp and Telegram conversations with relative ease if they wanted to. 

The videos show the ease with which WhatsApp and Telegram accounts are hijacked. These chat services use your phone number and that means hackers can take advantage of known flaws in wireless communication standards to defile your privacy.

Specifically, SS7 vulnerabilities are used to trick a telecom operator that the hacker’s phone has the same number as the target. Since WhatsApp is tied to a phone number, all the hacker has to do to get access to someone’s account is to clone the target’s device using these vulnerabilities.

Once a verification code has been obtained from WhatsApp, these hackers will be able to access your WhatsApp messages. They'll even be able to retrieve a history of messages in case they’re backed up to the cloud.

The implications of this are quite serious and it can only be hoped that something is done about it as soon as possible.

Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 Could be Out as soon as August

Reputable tipster Evan Blass has reported that the Note 7 unveiling is “almost exactly two months away.” 

To give the leak some credibility, Last year, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 5 on August 13. Going by that, two months from June 2 would point to an August 2 launch for the Galaxy Note 7.

 With that in mind, then maybe the leak is true as a first week of August release will make sense. Also, the move will see them launch before the much anticipated iPhone 7.

Also, the new leak would mean that Blass’ previous report claiming that the new Galaxy phablet will go on sale in the United States on August 15 would make even more sense.

 Samsung is skipping one generation to name its next-gen phablet Galaxy Note 7 to bring the model number in line with the Galaxy S series. Samsung launched Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge earlier this year. Naming its upcoming phablet Note 6 would give out a perception that it’s an older model.

The Galaxy Note 7 is rumored to feature a 5.8-inch AMOLED display, 6GB RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 processor, and microSD support. The RAM will be based on 10nm process technology, improving its battery efficiency. It is also said to be dustproof and waterproof. The phone will have a huge 4,000mAh battery, 32GB of built-in storage, and a 12-megapixel main camera with Dual Pixel setup.

One of the biggest anticipated features of the Galaxy Note 7 is the iris scanner. Samsung recently filed trademark applications for “Samsung Iris” and “Samsung EyePrint” in Europe. 

The phablet could also boast a dual-lens camera. 

So we're just going to sit here and salivate.

Facebook Rolling Out a New Set of Emojis

Facebook has started rolling out a more diverse set of emojis to its Messenger service on the web, iOS and Android. 

Facebook Messenger has always allowed you to use the diverse emoji offered via your smartphone or computer. Now, these diverse emojis are baked into Messenger. 

With this new update, users will be able to access over 1,500 new emojis — 100 of which were designed “to better reflect gender and skin tones” with gender-agnostic options and multi-colored emojis.

“We’re diversifying the genders to create a more balanced mix that’s more representative of our world,” Facebook wrote in a blog post. “Now, using Messenger emojis, you’ll see a female police officer, runner, pedestrian, surfer and swimmer for the very first time, and we’ll keep rolling these out.”

Whatsapp already has an update like this and now Facebook Messenger has joined in on the fun and will let you set the skin color you prefer your default emojis to be. 

Another significant aspect of this roll-out is the placement of emojis within the Messenger app. Before, the emojis on Facebook Messenger’s web app were buried in the back. In the iOS app, they were virtually nonexistent.

Now, the Messenger composer will include an emoji picker located on the left side.

Google Play Will Now Help You conserve Space on your Phones, Here's How

Space conservation has always been an issue with phones or devices in general, that's why we have Hard drives i guess. 

But Hard Drives are for your laptops, how about your phones? You could get a large memory card perhaps but space will still run out eventually, that's just how it is.

But Google to the rescue! The idea with Google Play's new proposed feature is to help you conserve space. You know how annoying it is to want to download a new app and meet that annoying 'Not Enough Space' message, and then you have to go to your app manager to start manually removing apps that you either didn't even know you still had or had downloaded for a specific reason and are no longer using.

The Play Store plans on introducing a new Uninstall Manager feature that will intelligently suggest neglected apps and games that you should delete if you don’t have enough space available. 

From the looks of things, the play store will show you apps that you haven't used in a while and from all indications you will be able to delete the offending apps from that menu.

There’s no word as to when this new feature will roll out to everyone, but it looks like it will start sometime soon and when it does, we'll let you know.

Sadly Google Nexus Phones Won't Be Giving you The Full Android Experience

Google will not be making their own Nexus phones according to CEO Sundar Pichai who said this to Walt Mossberg during an interview at the Code Conference. 

Pichai did say that Google will be more involved in the design of future Nexus devices, though even with that Nexus handsets and tablets won’t really offer the full Android experience.

“Our plan is still to work with OEMs to make phones,” Pichai said about Google’s involvement in Nexus hardware. But the company will be “investing more effort” into overseeing Nexus products, and it’ll be more “opinionated” about Nexus phone design.

Nexus buyers are fans of the Nexus devices because they run an unadultrated version of Android, they are also the first to receive the latest updates from Google, including beta versions of upcoming major Android releases.

But from reports it seems Google will add various things on top of Android or Nexus devices. 

Google wants to according to Pichai “thoughtfully add more features on top of Android or Nexus phones,” as there’s plenty of “software innovation to be had.” 

Pichai kept his cards close to his chest and gave nothing away in terms of what kind of features Google would want to put on top of Android, or why these features won’t be included in stock Android in the first place.

So all we know is that new Nexus phones won't really have the pure android running on them anymore, which is somewhat of a shame.
