Family: Jolie said she and Brad don't make moves into a "big deal" for their kids |
Angelina Jolie said she and Brad Pitt don't want Hollywood and movies to be the main focus for their children.
The Oscar winning actress said her personal experience of growing up around Hollywood meant she was "less in awe of it" and that she doesn't want movies to be the centre of her household.
Jolie, 38, is the daughter of actor John Voight, partner of fellow Hollywood megastar Pitt and a mother-of-six.
She told 5 News: "I grew up around Hollywood and in a way it was good because I was not that excited by it - it did not seem like a magic distant thing.
"I grew up less in awe of it all so I think it's good for our kids that they enjoy movies but that they can also see it's work and there's something very regular about it. And enjoy the fun of it.
"We don't keep them from it but we also don't make it a big deal, it's not the centre of our house. We do other things with our kids, we want them to focus on other things."
Jolie is appearing in a film for the first time in four years - and she stars alongside five-year-old daughter Vivienne in.
She said: "It was out of necessity because the other little kids were scared of me."

Jolie, who manages to fit humanitarian work in to her schedule, is also set to attend a summit on sexual violence in conflict with Foreign Secretary William Hague.
The aim is to end impunity for these crimes, but Jolie stressed: "I think it's not only collecting evidence, which we're doing and expanding and encouraging other countries to do and empowering people to know their rights, but it is also making sure... the person who commits the crime feels shamed and should be brought to justice."
