Netflix won't run, endless loading screen with -9 error message

Hey guys,

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE (i9305), rooted, bootloader unlocked with custom rom (CyanideL 5.1.1-RC-19.0-i9305) and I recently wanted to try to watch Netflix on my phone. Unfortunately, when I start the app, I just see the Netflix logo with the loading circle underneath it for a long time (maybe a minute or two) and then the following error shows up:"Sorry, we could not reach the Netflix service. Please try again later (-9)"
Now the Netflix help page says this is a network/connectivity issue, however, I don't think that's the case here. I have rebooted my device, rebooted my wifi/router and it also happens when I am outside with a stable LTE connection, same error message every time.
Since I found similar issues in relation to custom roms, I thought that might be my issue somehow. I have found two possible fixes online, both of which leave me a bit dumbfounded. One frequent solution seems to be to delete /system/lib/liboemcrypto.so - I already didn't have that file, so no luck there.
Another thing that works for many people is to modify the ro.product.model entry. Mine is set to "GT-I9305", which should be the right one anyway, so I don't know what to change it to.

Would be great if someone could help me with this, I am out of ideas.
