Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 Could be Out as soon as August

Reputable tipster Evan Blass has reported that the Note 7 unveiling is “almost exactly two months away.” 

To give the leak some credibility, Last year, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 5 on August 13. Going by that, two months from June 2 would point to an August 2 launch for the Galaxy Note 7.

 With that in mind, then maybe the leak is true as a first week of August release will make sense. Also, the move will see them launch before the much anticipated iPhone 7.

Also, the new leak would mean that Blass’ previous report claiming that the new Galaxy phablet will go on sale in the United States on August 15 would make even more sense.

 Samsung is skipping one generation to name its next-gen phablet Galaxy Note 7 to bring the model number in line with the Galaxy S series. Samsung launched Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge earlier this year. Naming its upcoming phablet Note 6 would give out a perception that it’s an older model.

The Galaxy Note 7 is rumored to feature a 5.8-inch AMOLED display, 6GB RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 processor, and microSD support. The RAM will be based on 10nm process technology, improving its battery efficiency. It is also said to be dustproof and waterproof. The phone will have a huge 4,000mAh battery, 32GB of built-in storage, and a 12-megapixel main camera with Dual Pixel setup.

One of the biggest anticipated features of the Galaxy Note 7 is the iris scanner. Samsung recently filed trademark applications for “Samsung Iris” and “Samsung EyePrint” in Europe. 

The phablet could also boast a dual-lens camera. 

So we're just going to sit here and salivate.

Facebook Rolling Out a New Set of Emojis

Facebook has started rolling out a more diverse set of emojis to its Messenger service on the web, iOS and Android. 

Facebook Messenger has always allowed you to use the diverse emoji offered via your smartphone or computer. Now, these diverse emojis are baked into Messenger. 

With this new update, users will be able to access over 1,500 new emojis — 100 of which were designed “to better reflect gender and skin tones” with gender-agnostic options and multi-colored emojis.

“We’re diversifying the genders to create a more balanced mix that’s more representative of our world,” Facebook wrote in a blog post. “Now, using Messenger emojis, you’ll see a female police officer, runner, pedestrian, surfer and swimmer for the very first time, and we’ll keep rolling these out.”

Whatsapp already has an update like this and now Facebook Messenger has joined in on the fun and will let you set the skin color you prefer your default emojis to be. 

Another significant aspect of this roll-out is the placement of emojis within the Messenger app. Before, the emojis on Facebook Messenger’s web app were buried in the back. In the iOS app, they were virtually nonexistent.

Now, the Messenger composer will include an emoji picker located on the left side.

Google Play Will Now Help You conserve Space on your Phones, Here's How

Space conservation has always been an issue with phones or devices in general, that's why we have Hard drives i guess. 

But Hard Drives are for your laptops, how about your phones? You could get a large memory card perhaps but space will still run out eventually, that's just how it is.

But Google to the rescue! The idea with Google Play's new proposed feature is to help you conserve space. You know how annoying it is to want to download a new app and meet that annoying 'Not Enough Space' message, and then you have to go to your app manager to start manually removing apps that you either didn't even know you still had or had downloaded for a specific reason and are no longer using.

The Play Store plans on introducing a new Uninstall Manager feature that will intelligently suggest neglected apps and games that you should delete if you don’t have enough space available. 

From the looks of things, the play store will show you apps that you haven't used in a while and from all indications you will be able to delete the offending apps from that menu.

There’s no word as to when this new feature will roll out to everyone, but it looks like it will start sometime soon and when it does, we'll let you know.

Sadly Google Nexus Phones Won't Be Giving you The Full Android Experience

Google will not be making their own Nexus phones according to CEO Sundar Pichai who said this to Walt Mossberg during an interview at the Code Conference. 

Pichai did say that Google will be more involved in the design of future Nexus devices, though even with that Nexus handsets and tablets won’t really offer the full Android experience.

“Our plan is still to work with OEMs to make phones,” Pichai said about Google’s involvement in Nexus hardware. But the company will be “investing more effort” into overseeing Nexus products, and it’ll be more “opinionated” about Nexus phone design.

Nexus buyers are fans of the Nexus devices because they run an unadultrated version of Android, they are also the first to receive the latest updates from Google, including beta versions of upcoming major Android releases.

But from reports it seems Google will add various things on top of Android or Nexus devices. 

Google wants to according to Pichai “thoughtfully add more features on top of Android or Nexus phones,” as there’s plenty of “software innovation to be had.” 

Pichai kept his cards close to his chest and gave nothing away in terms of what kind of features Google would want to put on top of Android, or why these features won’t be included in stock Android in the first place.

So all we know is that new Nexus phones won't really have the pure android running on them anymore, which is somewhat of a shame.

iOS Bug Allows you to do the Strangest things with your Pictures on Your iPhone

The iOS has always been a lot of fun and also been a hive for glitches and bugs. The bugs range from the really annoying ones to the pretty hilarious ones.

There's one which causes keyboard glitches while regulating Spotlight hunt and another that affects accessibility and kills off complement animations completely.

The funniest by far is a new bug that lets you zoom into a picture infinitely while using the photo app.

Normally there's a limit to just how much you can zoom into a picture that doesn't affect picture quality and whatnot, but from the looks of things, we can bypass this altogether and infinitely zoom into an image to sub-atomic levels even...think Fantastic Adventure by Isaac Asimov

If you want to try it out, here's what you do:

1. Launch a Photos app and open adult any image.

2. Now tap on a ‘Edit’ symbol and afterwards tap on ‘Crop.’

3. Rotate a picture 90 degrees in any direction and strike save.

4. Now zoom into a picture regulating a splash out gesture. Keep on zooming until we strech a sub-atomic level.

Easy as pie eh?

It’s a tiny bug in iOS that doesn’t means any harm during all. But now that it has been detected and gone public, we’re certain Apple will make sure to change things.

Gamers Rejoice! There's a New Console that will Play every Game Cartridge All In the Same Place

I love retro games. I grew up in the 90s, my first console was a Super Nintendo Entertainment system (SNES). 

It came with a Street Fighter Cartridge which is probably why i'm still a fan of the game till tomorrow and probably forever. I also had the NES

Collecting then was fun, but then times changed. There's the NES, SNES, Nintendo 64 and that's just from Nintendo, finding space for all that will be a hassle for any collector of retro games.

But that might no longer be a problem, there's one gadget showcased at Computex in Taiwan that could be a collector's dream-- The Retro Freak.

The Retro Freak is a nifty little console that will provide a home for all your favourite old games, with slots for well-loved cartridges and an '80s-perfect controller to boot.

It also promises a bunch of features that certainly weren't around in the '80s:

• HDMI connectivity
• 1,280x720-pixel upscaling
• Display filter to smooth out pixelated edges
• In-machine game saving (via SD card)
• Support for USB controllers such as PS3/PS4
• Supports NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega Megadrive (with converter), Game Boy (Original, Color and Advance), Turbo Grafx-16, PC Engine and PC Engine Super Grafx games

So you can play your classics; Mario Kart, Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Killer Instinct etc. Just chuck in your SNES cartridge, plug the Retro Freak into your TV's HDMI port and you can go back in time when things were simpler and you could just sit around playing video games without worrying about making a living and all that other stressful stuff.

The Retro Freak recreates your childhood down to the vintage-look scan lines on the screen that give those games a their real arcade flavour.

The interface is a little spare, but you can change your game's appearance by toggling features, such as those scan lines, on and off. You can also change the display filter to smooth out pixelated lines and adjust the refresh rate from what the original game demanded to up to 60Hz -- all to make the games adjust a little more easily to modern TVs.

You can also use cheats which will allow you to play with perpetual lives or a bottomless pit of money.

The console isn't in the US yet, though it's available in Asia for 20,000 yen (roughly $180, AU$250 and £125), with Australian distribution reportedly coming soon.

It looked really good though and i could just imagine playing my old favourites without having to look for some emulator somewhere.

Microsoft Office Apps Will come Pre-Installed To Xiaomi Devices

For those who use Xiaomi devices or have plans to purchase one, know that your device will be coming with man pre-installed Microsoft apps including Office and Skype on its phones and tablets. 

Microsoft announced in a blog post that Xiaomi will begin preinstalling Office and other software and services on devices including the Mi 5, Mi Max, Mi 4s, Redmi Note 3, and Redmi 3 starting September 2016. 

The companies have refused to disclose the financial details of the agreement.

The companies have already partnered to launch Windows 10 on Mi Pad and fuel Mi Cloud service using Microsoft Azure.

“We are excited to be working closely with Microsoft on a broad technology collaboration partnership,” said Xiang Wang, senior vice president at Xiaomi. 

“As demonstrated by this agreement with Microsoft, Xiaomi is looking to build sustainable, long-term partnerships with global technology leaders, with the ultimate goal of bringing the best user experience to our Mi fans.”
